MAPS AND COURSES

Maps are also posted on the HammerHead Ocean Marathon Facebook group page.

It is important that the 5k swimmers stay outside the buoy line when you are swimming south, to avoid swimming into the 2k swimmers. When the 5k makes the turn to the north, you will be in line with the other swimmers.

It is important that the 2k and 1k swimmers stay inside the buoy line (after you pass your first turn buoy, to head north to the station) so that you do not get in the lane with the 5k swimmers when they are swimming south.

All swimmers will make their last (left-hand) turn around the same buoy before heading to shore. (It should be a large white cube buoy). Your timing chip will be counted as you cross the finish line in the sand by the 1st Place Timing Tent.

Below are the course maps for each distance this year.  Click the image to see in larger format.
